Whew! June was a whirlwind, wasn’t it? I swear, summer and the month of December just fly by compared to the rest of the year. Since it IS such a bustling and busy time, I like to keep summer style as simple as possible. Minimalism is a convenient theme since I live in the hot-as-hell Great American South, where “swamp ass” is a thing. Not that I’m complaining, at least central air conditioning is pretty much standard down here. Before I get side-tracked with ranking the quality of central cooling systems around the nation, let’s get back to the CLOTHES, shall we?
Denim & white is always such an easy, classic summer combo, one I’ve practically lived in this summer! Both of these looks were equal parts Old Navy & thrifted.
When situations call for a lil more class (read: I don’t feel like wearing pants), my summer dress collection is the only way to go! The black and pink rounded hem ditty is actually a swim coverup which I pair with some slim fit shorts so my tail doesn’t show & the white daisy dress is by one of my favorite department store brands, American Rag. Two more fun options below from Crown & Ivy and Chelsea + Theodore.
And I’ve got to share with y’all my swimwear secret weapon for this summer: Forever 21 Plus! I can’t tell you how many curvy girls I’ve heard from on Facebook and in general everyday life wanting to know where I got my beach wear and that is always the answer. I’m especially obsessed with the black and white retro gingham bikini. No more granny skirt for …. Oh wait look at that one its so cute! No shame.
Thanks for checking out my first ever lookbook!
